Technical Translation Services
For 40+ years, we have specialized in technical translation and localization across many different industries. For example, we provide translations in automotive, construction and agricultural machinery, factory automation, consumer products, and many more fields.
We provide translation of user manuals, operating instructions, reference guides, technical manuals, spare parts catalogs, marketing and sales materials (brochures, flyers, presentations), websites, business and internal correspondence, contracts, and agreements. We can also deliver multilingual desktop publishing.
Three Translation Modes
Standard – Designed for everyday projects with a standard delivery term of 1,000 source words during the initial 24 hours, and then 2,000 source words every business day following this.
Team – The team mode is designed for larger projects where we allocate translation to a team of translators to shorten the delivery term. For repeating or similar text segments, team members can reuse similar and identical content from each other to maintain consistency throughout the project. After the translation is finished a separate individual reviewer will amend and unify content for the best quality possible.
Mini Express – Select this option when time is critical. We then undertake to deliver smaller projects up to 400 source words inside 4 working hours (CET) – with no minimum fees.
All three modes offer use of glossaries, translation memories, etc. and apply compulsory QA checks.
Our translation services are also compliant with the SAE J2450 translation quality metric, the ISO 9001:2016 quality management system as well as the ISO 17100:2015 and ISO 18587:2017 translation service quality systems.
Terminology Management
Consistent terminology and uniform expressions are key issues especially in technical translation.
Thanks to Doc³, our translation platform, we rely on integrated terminology management to maintain consistent usage of domain-specific terminology for different projects and clients.
You can simply send us your existing glossaries or external term base files for your projects. Or you can opt to request creation of glossaries in real time while a project is being translated.
Machine Translation and Post-Editing (MTPE)
MTPE increases translation productivity, enables faster turn-around, and offers serious cost savings with the best quality guaranteed.
Our entire MTPE process is ISO 18587 certified.
A first native translator edits and corrects machine-translated text, and a separate independent translator then reviews the text. Both stages apply compulsory QA checks in real time, while in a third stage in-house staff perform QA checking on the full project to ensure top-quality translation.
Using our neural machine translation solution, we can also help you train and build your own private MT engine. This technical content-specific engine will optimize your translation process and leverage existing translations optimally during pre-translation of subsequent projects.
Translation Project Management
idioma’s project managers are real-life solution-oriented professionals.
They assess each client’s needs and objectives individually.
Our project managers oversee the entire translation process anticipating your needs, maintain an open dialog, leverage the best technology, assure maximum quality, and meet promised deadlines. They carefully manage your project until its completion.
From large-scale to small custom projects, each translation project is assigned to an individual project manager to ensure that every detail is attended to with the greatest care.
Translation Quality Assurance (QA)
We pursue the Kaizen philosophy of constant improvement.
A poor translation can have a negative impact on your product, become an embarrassment to your brand, and affect your sales. In the worst case, it could be misunderstood and lead to an accident, thus becoming a product liability issue with possible lawsuits and resulting costs.
At idioma®, we believe quality assurance (QA) to be critically important in practice. The translation procedure follows a stringent and mandatory QA process using human eyes + machine detection.
We have developed CrossCheck®, a comprehensive QA software that checks for errors in real time while our translators work. CrossCheck® functions from beginning to end of the translation process to check for potential errors and fix actual mistakes.
CrossCheck® is integrated into our Doc³ translation platform as a compulsory element to systematically manage the QA process.
